Montalban Quintet with Red Fox Tails at the Pour House
We had a great time playing again with our buddies in the Red Fox Tails. They are a remarkable band of musicians. It’s pretty hard to not like them. This was our second show with them and I sense there will be many more to come. Jay Reilly, the RFT bassist, took some stellar shots […]
Casbah Show Creeping Up…
Our pals at Owl and Bear posted our show this Saturday at the show to check out in town. Thanks for the support. We are excited to try out some new material at our crusty home away from home.
Owl and Bear – Shows of Interest This Week
San Diego Surf Film Festival
Montalban Quintet is proud to participate in this year’s San Diego Surf Film Festival. Read about it here in the SD CityBeat. We play on Sat May 11 from 6-7 between some of the screenings. Bird’s Surf Shed is hosting it and it’s worth the price of admission to see all the vintage boards. Amazing!

New Photos from Michael Klayman
Michael Klayman took some cool shots form the recent Casbah show with the Mattson2 and In Motion Collective. It was a really fun night and it’s great to have a few photos to commemorate the evening. Michael’s stuff is amazing. Check his site here:

We are a busy […]

Velo Hangar Party
We just played a “July Birthdays” party at the Velo Hangar in Solana Beach. Man o Man! This is a cool spot. Huge thanks to Gordon, Laurel and Ben for hosting such a fun event. Montalban Quintet played 2 sets and even fit in a brand new (unfinished) song since people […]
Post Tin Can Show Review
Last week’s show was a good one! We opened the evening to a great audience and played a very low-key, quiet set. Thanks to Justin at the Tin Can for being patient with getting our sound dialed in. Often times 7 people barging on stage can be intimidating for sound engineers. Our set […]
